Date Night at Le Moyne Bistro
For a romantic date night in the New Orleans Warehouse District, Le Moyne Bistro is the French bistro built for it: candlelit, intimate, and unhurried — the kind of place you walk into and feel transported to Paris for the night. Elevated rustic French cooking from chefs Christian Hurst and Farrell Harrison — alumni of James Beard– and Michelin-awarded kitchens — turns a table for two into the whole evening.
Guests tell us this themselves. "Came here for date night — the ambiance was great." "Can't wait to come back for a date night to appreciate the romantic vibe." That's exactly who Le Moyne is for.
Where to sit
Ask for a table in the windows overlooking Tchoupitoulas Street — the best seat in the house for two. The dining room is warm and softly lit, set inside a building with real history and character — the kind of room that makes an ordinary Tuesday feel like an occasion.
Start at the bar — Le Petit Apéro
Arrive a little early and begin with a cocktail at the bar during Le Petit Apéro, our happy hour. The cocktail program leans classic and well-balanced — a properly shaken martini is a fine way to begin — before you move to your table.
What to order
Le Moyne is made for sharing your way across the menu. Start with the bone marrow, the crab au gratin, or the silky beef tartare (dressed with horseradish and sunchokes). Don't skip the French onion soup and the homemade sourdough. For mains, the steak frites and the duck confit are the ones couples come back for, with the hanger steak and short ribs close behind.
Finish the way we'd steer you: the lavender crème brûlée with a glass of Sauternes — the perfect close to a French date night.
Why Le Moyne for date night
You're transported to Paris for the night. That's the difference — the room, the cooking, and the service all conspire to make a dinner for two feel like somewhere far from a Tuesday in New Orleans. What guests tell us most is that the hospitality makes it: warm, genuine, and attentive without hovering — the kind of night where you lose track of time.
